I study how water moves through rivers, floodplains, and changing landscapes. My research combines hydrologic and hydrodynamic models, satellite observations, and climate projections to better understand floods, droughts, and water-resource resilience.
I am a PhD candidate in Civil Engineering at Michigan State University, specializing in hydrologic and hydrodynamic modeling, flood-risk assessment, and water-resources analysis. My work investigates how river and floodplain systems respond to changing climate and water management.
As a Graduate Research Assistant in the Multi-scale FEW Lab, I study hydrologic dynamics across Asian river basins, analyze multi-model climate projections, and work with NASA SWOT satellite observations to improve understanding of river and reservoir states.
Before beginning my PhD, I earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Tribhuvan University, Institute of Engineering, Pulchowk Campus in Nepal. I also worked in civil engineering, river basin research, and infrastructure assessment. I am an Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) with interests in flooding, drainage, and resilience.
My research integrates physics-based simulation, satellite data, and climate-model ensembles to understand hydrologic change and improve flood and water-resources analysis.
Developed multi-decadal assessments of river basin hydrology across Asia, examining spatial differences in water availability, flooding, and hydrologic extremes over 1979–2018.
Led multi-model ensemble analyses to investigate regional changes in discharge and concurrent flood–drought extremes under future climate scenarios.
Collaborated on validating NASA Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) observations for the Ganges River, with broader work on constraining river and reservoir states in hydrodynamic models.
Reviewed climate and hydropower dynamics in Asian river basins, focusing on infrastructure risk, changing water availability, and policy challenges.
Peer-reviewed research and conference presentations in hydrology, hydrodynamic modeling, and climate change. Full publication details and links can be added later.
The CV reports lead authorship of three peer-reviewed articles; additional article titles will be included once the bibliographic details are supplied.
